Overview

Minecraft's idea of sharing food is throwing a steak on the floor and hoping your friend picks it up. Feed Your Friends lets you feed them directly: hold any food, look at them and use it. The food flies across, they eat it, and they get the hunger, saturation and every effect, exactly as if they'd eaten it themselves. Bowls, bottles and buckets come back to you.

Every vanilla food works with Bedrock's own values: golden apples give Regeneration and Absorption, suspicious stew gives the effect of its flower, milk clears every effect, honey cures poison, water puts out a friend on fire, and chorus fruit teleports them somewhere nearby. Drinkable potions can be shared too, long and strong ones included. Food from other add-ons is picked up automatically.

Nine particle effects made for the add-on show what's happening: food flying from your hand to their mouth, crumbs as they eat, hearts, golden sparkles, poison bubbles, a splash of milk, honey drips and a swirl when chorus fruit takes them.

A food icon on every name tag shows how hungry each player is, and a food bubble floats over anyone too hungry to sprint. /mygen:feedyourfriends opens a live list of everyone's hunger, distance and direction, and lets you ask everyone for food.

Nobody gets force-fed: each player chooses to accept food from everyone, safe food only (no poison, chorus teleports or milk wiping their buffs) or nobody, and can switch on sneak to feed. Operators set the feeding range and can turn harmful food, chorus fruit, milk, potions, name tag icons, the hungry bubble and particles on or off.

    • World settings for operators: feeding range, allow harmful food, chorus fruit, milk and potions, hunger on name tags, the hungry bubble, feeding particles

    • Feeding in creative used up the food
    • Players in creative or spectator could be fed
    • Bowls and bottles were lost when your inventory was full; they now drop at your feet
    • Hunger icons replaced other add-ons' name tags (ranks, classes); only the icon is added or removed now
