JAWA - Just Another WAILA Add-On

JAWA - Just Another WAILA Add-On

A comprehensive HUD overlay addon for Minecraft Bedrock Edition that tells you everything about whatever you're looking at — blocks, entities, containers, and more — in real time, without opening a single menu.

What Does It Do?

Point at anything in the world and JAWA displays detailed information about it directly on your HUD. Blocks, mobs, dropped items, containers — if you can look at it, JAWA will tell you about it.

Features

Block Information

  • Block name in your own language (uses the game's translations, including add-on block names)
  • Block states — all properties like direction, rotation, open/closed, powered state, growth stage, and more
  • Redstone power level — current signal strength received by the block
  • Harvesting tags — shows which tool and tier is required to mine the block, with visual feedback indicating whether you're holding the correct tool (works with copper and add-on tools)
  • Block details — crop growth, compost and honey levels, cauldron fill, respawn anchor charges, cake slices, candle and sea pickle counts, note block instrument
  • Bone meal hint — crops and saplings that bone meal would still grow
  • Item frames — the framed item's name and details
  • No-tool icon — for blocks that can't be mined in survival (barriers, command blocks, bedrock...)
  • Furnace animation — flame and filling arrow while a furnace is lit (an approximation: the game doesn't expose real smelting progress)
  • Namespace — shows the source addon/namespace (e.g. Minecraft, or a custom addon name)

Entity Information

  • Entity name — displays custom name tags and entity type
  • Live portrait — a real-time rendered preview of the entity on the overlay
  • Health bar — visual heart display supporting normal, poison, wither, and frozen heart styles. High-HP entities (>40 HP) automatically show a compact bar with numeric count
  • Absorption hearts — golden hearts from the absorption effect shown separately
  • Armour rating — total armour points for players (the game doesn't let scripts read what mobs are wearing)
  • Numeric health mode — optional compact display showing current HP, max HP, and percentage
  • Status effects — all active effects with duration (MM:SS), a time-left bar and amplifier level (I, II, III, etc.). Infinite effects show ∞. Supports all 37 effects
  • Mob details — villager profession, the owner of tamed pets and horses, what a mob is leashed to, and horse/donkey/camel speed
  • Entity tags — up to three contextual icons showing traits like baby, tamed, tameable, tradeable, rideable, breedable and healable, with the correct item displayed (e.g. wheat for cows, fish for cats, golden apple for horses). Taming and healing items come from the mob itself, so add-on mobs work too
  • Invulnerable detection — entities with infinite health (like NPCs) have their health bar hidden automatically

Container Preview

See what's inside containers without opening them. Supported containers include:

  • Count, durability, enchantments, lore, food value, what's in a bundle and book author

Languages

Names of blocks, items, mobs and effects use the game's own translations, so they follow every language Minecraft supports. JAWA's own menus and labels are translated into English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean (JAWA_RP/texts/); other languages show them in English. To add or correct a translation, copy en_US.lang to your language code, translate the text after each =, and add the code to languages.json.

Installation

  1. Download the .mcaddon file (or import the JAWA_BP and JAWA_RP packs separately)
  2. Apply both the Behaviour Pack and Resource Pack to your world
    • @minecraft/server v2.10.0
    • @minecraft/server-ui v2.2.0
  3. Load into your world — JAWA will appear on your HUD automatically

Admin Settings (/jawa:admin)

Server operators can configure default values for all settings and lock individual settings to prevent players from changing them. This is useful for servers that want a consistent experience or need to enforce specific display options.

  • Default values — set what new players start with
  • Lock toggle — when locked, all players are forced to use the admin-set default and the setting appears greyed out in their config panel
  • Reset defaults and locks — back to JAWA's own defaults with nothing locked
  • Changes apply to everyone immediately

Frame Styles

JAWA includes 14 hand-crafted frame styles, each available with Light, Dark, or No container theme:
