Advanced Bedrock Compass
You've been walking for twenty minutes. You were sure there was a Cherry Grove this way. There is not a Cherry Grove this way. Advanced Bedrock Compass is a Minecraft Bedrock Edition addon that gives you one item that answers "where is the nearest...?" for every biome and structure in the game. Open the compass, tap a picture, and a marker appears on your locator bar with live directions in your action bar. Save your own waypoints, find your way back to where you died, and never lose a build again.
How It Works
Use the compass (right-click / long-press / tap) to open a native two-column menu. Pick a tab from the sidebar — Biomes, Structures, Waypoints, Death location or Settings — then tap a card. A colour-coded marker lands on your locator bar and the action bar shows the target's name, distance and a turn arrow while you hold the compass. Walk towards the pretty dot. That's the whole tutorial.
Features
Biome Locator
- 61 biomes with picture cards — 56 in the Overworld and 5 in the Nether
- Finds the nearest one instantly, no command blocks and no world edits
- Drops a colour-coded marker on the locator bar so you can just walk towards it
- Includes cave biomes (Lush Caves, Dripstone Caves, Deep Dark, Sulfur Caves)
Structure Locator
- 17 structures across the Overworld, Nether and End: Village, Pillager Outpost, Woodland Mansion, Temple, Trial Chambers, Ancient City, Stronghold, Mineshaft, Trail Ruins, Ocean Monument, Shipwreck, Ocean Ruins, Buried Treasure, Ruined Portal, Nether Fortress, Bastion Remnant and End City
- Runs the search for you, then opens a coordinate box — type in the result and the compass points the way
- Structure markers get their own icon on the locator bar
Waypoints
- Save up to 60 named locations per player in 10 marker colours
- Tap any saved waypoint to show or hide its locator bar marker — several can be shown at once
- Coordinates are prefilled with where you are standing and can be edited
- Waypoints are private, per player, and survive rejoining the world
Death Locations
- Remembers your last 10 deaths, newest first, with the cause and dimension
- Point compass to it for a skull marker and live directions back to your loot
- Forget it to clear a death you no longer need
Live Directions
- While holding the compass, the action bar shows the target's name, distance and a turn arrow
- Works together with the locator bar marker, or on its own if you prefer
Teleport (Creative & Operators)
- Teleport to last result, Teleport there (deaths) and Teleport to coordinates
- Always lands on solid, safe ground rather than in mid-air or inside a block
- Only shown to Creative players and operators — survival players keep it fair
Smart Menus
- Dimension aware — only shows biomes and structures that exist where you are standing
- Clear target button appears in the sidebar whenever something is being tracked
- Settings let each player toggle action bar directions and locator bar markers
How to Install
- Download the
.mcaddonfile - Double-click it to open with Minecraft — both packs import automatically
- Create or edit a world and add Advanced Bedrock Compass under Behavior Packs
- The Advanced Bedrock Compass Resources pack will be applied automatically
- Start your world — you will be handed a compass the first time you join, and it stays in your inventory when you die
Getting a Compass
Everyone is given a compass on first join. You can also craft one:
Amethyst Shard Ender Pearl Amethyst Shard
Ender Pearl Compass Ender Pearl
Amethyst Shard Ender Pearl Amethyst Shard
Operators can also use /give @s abc:compass.
If you lose your compass and don't fancy crafting one, an operator can run /tag @s remove abc_given; rejoin and it will be given to you again.
Usage Tips
- A new biome or structure search replaces the previous marker. Saved waypoint markers are unaffected, and Clear target only removes the search marker
- Structure results appear in chat and a coordinate box opens automatically — cancelling it leaves your current target untouched
- You need to be in the same dimension as a death or waypoint for the compass to point at it
- Turning off Locator bar marker in Settings also clears any active waypoint markers
- Waypoint names are capped at 24 characters and you get 60 per player — that's a lot of diamond caves
Requirements
- Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.26.40 or later
- No experimental features required — uses only stable Script APIs
